North China struggle to air pollution
Ningxia authorities announced a clean air action plan (2018-2020), which plans to close, relocate or repair 1,900 polluted enterprises in the next three years.Steel Pipes
Several areas in northern China have stepped up efforts to prevent and control air pollution, including closing polluting companies and coal-fired boilers and restricting the use of automobiles. According to the plan, a total of 1,089 companies should be closed or relocated, and 816 firms should be suspended to improve pollutant treatment facilities.
Zhao Xuhui, director of the Ministry of Regional Industry and Information Technology, said on Tuesday that the move is aimed at reducing outdated industrial capacity to reduce energy consumption and pollutant emissions as the region seeks quality growth.
